Honoring a Legacy of Compassion and Recovery
For nearly 40 years, Terri Vaughn Spears was a guiding light at Fellowship Hall – a counselor, family therapist, and trusted friend who helped countless individuals and families find freedom from addiction. Terri’s journey with Fellowship Hall began when she was just 22 years old, and over the decades, she became a cornerstone of our community. Her heart for helping others – especially young adults – was unmatched.
Terri passed away on May 7, 2024, after a courageous battle with bile duct cancer. Though she is deeply missed, her legacy continues to shine through the lives she touched.
Continuing Terri’s Work Through Scholarship
The Terri V. Spears Scholarship Fund was created to honor Terri’s life and lifelong commitment to recovery. This fund provides financial assistance to young adults seeking treatment at Fellowship Hall – individuals who are ready for change but unable to afford care.
Recipients of this scholarship are chosen intentionally, not only because we believe in their potential for recovery, but because Terri would have, too. She saw the good in everyone, even when they couldn’t see it themselves.

A Life of Listening, Loving, and Lifting Others
Terri’s compassion was born from her own life experience. She understood the pain, shame, and isolation families endure – and turned that understanding into a lifetime of service.
For more than two decades, Terri led the Family Early Recovery Group, helping loved ones heal together. Her empathy, wisdom, and ability to truly listen brought hope to thousands.
